Dnipropetrovsk City


Dnipropetrovsk Cityis located in central southern part ofUkraine, is the capital city ofDnipropetrovskState as well as the political, economic and cultural center of the state. Covering both banks of the downstreamDnieperRiver, it is the tourism and vacation resort inUkraine.

The total area of the city is 380 square kilometers, and the population is 1.3 million, of which 63% are Ukrainians, with the rest of Russians, Israeli and Bielorussians, etc. Being in the temperate continental climate zone, its average temperature in January is -5 while that of July is 22.  

Dnipropetrovsk Citywas originally the giant industrial center of the formerUSSRand the city of iron and steel ofEuropewith the black metal as its pillar industry. There are over 100 different major industrial products, which include castings, plates, wires, tubes, rails, mining metallurgy machinery, machine tools, light machinery, radio equipment, woodworking machinery, tires, plastics, paper, clothing and food. There are altogether 3,236 enterprises, of which 178 are large-scale industrial enterprises. About 600 enterprises are involved in export business.    

It is not only the most important industrial city forUkraine, but it is also an important hub for railway and shipping. The city has an advanced three-dimensional traffic system of water, land and air transportation.

The city is also a famous cultural city, with the top music halls and art theaters in allUkraine. At the same time, it is also the famous “university city” inUkraineand boasts 15 institutes of higher learning in this beautiful city covered with green trees. In addition, the city is also one of the largest science and education centers with more than 40 scientific research institutes and designing institutes, of which the scientific research institutes are responsible for the R&D of the projects of different national economic departments.
