The resident work teams visiting the households who have been lifted out of poverty

The resident work teams dispatched by Xi’an Foreign Affairs Office and Xi’an Bureau of Finance in Xiyuanyu Village, Huaxu Town, Lantian County have focused on the targets of poverty alleviation, implemented the targeted policy, and regularly conducted the investigation to implement the requirements of CPC Central Committee, State Council, Shaanxi Provincial Government, and Xi’an Municipal Government for establishing a long-term mechanism for the poverty alleviation, taking the dynamic monitoring of any trends indicating a return to poverty and fight against poverty as a priority. Recently, resident work teams worked with the Committee of the village to visit the households who have been lifted out of poverty including the households enjoying five guarantees and the households enjoying the minimum guarantee, investigated the potential risks of slipping back into poverty, and conducted overall analysis and judgment.

The resident work teams and the Committee of the village checked on 13 households who have been lifted out of poverty in the 5 groups and didn’t find any households who have just emerged from poverty but whose position is far from secure, those on the verge of poverty who can fall back in again easily, and those experienced difficulties in meeting their basic needs.

After that, the resident work teams and the Committee of the village held a meeting and decided to establish a mechanism for a regular visit. They will visit the households who have been lifted out of poverty once a month to evaluate their income, expenditure, the Two Assurances and Three Guarantees which refers to assurances of adequate food and clothing, and guarantees of access to compulsory education, basic medical services, and safe housing for rural residents who have been lifted out of poverty, safe food and drinking water. They prevent and solve the problem of returning to poverty by improving the work mechanism and jointly ensure that people do not sink back into poverty in large numbers.
